When Someone from Cirris Says “Fixturing”
Cirris uses the word “Fixturing” when referring to the set of wires and connectors that connect the device-under-test to the tester.
How much time does it take you to set up a test? You need to attach the fixturing to the tester and create or load the test program. You may have to spend some time troubleshooting if something goes wrong. Smart-Lights are a tool that will cut down on the amount of time and effort you spend setting up a test while helping to eliminate test setup errors.
Smart-Lights are small devices that attach directly to your fixturing cable. When registered with easy-wire software, the Smart-Light will store all information pertaining to the cable. This means the next time the cable is attached to the tester, the software will immediately identify the cable. You won’t have to search through lists and archives to find the right cable for the test. The software will automatically add it to the test program for you.
One error committed during test setup is attaching fixturing cables in the wrong order. It could take hours to identify the problem then rearrange the cables to the correct order. With Smart-Lights, the software can identify the cables no matter what order they are arranged. This saves the operator time and headaches and makes testing happen that much faster.
